Institute for Family Development International
Fighting poverty through education, training & self-reliance
The Institute for Family Development International (IFDI) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to funding unique projects that support impoverished women and children in pursuit of self-sufficiency and financial independence.
We are a “hands-on” micro-funder that provides grants for projects that, while too small for larger foundations, have an immediate impact on the served population. Projects we fund are focused on promoting self-sufficiency and sustainable benefits to those served.
In the world of international philanthropy, IFDI has a unique niche. Our grants have reached communities both within the United States (in inner cities and rural areas) and in villages in Asia, Africa, and Latin America. All awards are made after individual evaluation is made by IFDI's board of directors, a group of professional non-profit leaders and administrators.
IFDI is always seeking partners, such as other small foundations, to jointly fund projects or share recommendations for worthy projects.
Our Vision
A world where people with limited resources
can take control of the quality of their lives,
build economic independence,
and receive the education and medical services
needed to provide dignified lives
for themselves
and their families.
